The applicant will receive an email when the passport is ready for delivery.
Passports can be obtained in the following ways:
- Collected at Hagkaup store, Skeifan 15, 108 Reykjavík. Opening hours are 24/7. The condition for delivery is that the old passport has been invalidated at the application point. The applicant must collect his or her children's ID cards from Hagkaup. It is not possible to authorize someone else to collect them on his or her behalf at Hagkaup.
- Collected at Registers Iceland, Borgartún 21, 105 Reykjavík. Opening hours are 10:00-15:00 on weekdays.
- Collected at a domestic or foreign application location.
- Sent by post abroad with DHL.
Note that passports are produced by the National Registry, so applicants should plan accordingly if they wish to collect their passports at an application location.
If the applicant cannot collect the passport in person, they can authorize someone else to do so (except in Hagkaup). However, a legal guardian must collect a child's passport unless they grant authorization to someone else.
Please note that if a passport is not collected within 6 months, it will be canceled.
